OUR JOURNEY TO TEXAS

Hi, We left Monday, Feb. 22nd with reports of a big snowstorm in southern Wisconsin and/or northern Illinois. It was so cold we didn't fill the water tank in the motorhome. We lucked out with only a lot of slush in southern Wisconsin. The motorhome was coated in salt. We camped in the St. Louis area the first night. It was in the high teens that night. Tuesday we drove to northeast Oklahoma and camped in a state park (Bernice State Park). We were the only campers and had a great view of the Grand Lake of the Cherokee. We hiked the nature trail while there. We sure missed our trail dog Becca. This is the first camping trip without Becca. On Wednesday we drove through Dallas, Texas. This is an event I hope not to repeat for a long time. There was a red semi that I followed through Dallas. He knew which lanes to take. The lady at the Texas welcome center gave us perfect directions to get through Dallas. We camped just north of Waco the 3rd night afo After enduring an hourlong traffic jam on Interstate 35, just south of the Big D. Thursday AM, we stopped at a truck service center in Waco (Volvo-Pentra) and had the motorhome washed for a nominal fee. We still saw evidence of snow even south of Dallas. The grass is starting to green up as we get closer to San Antonio. On the 4rth night, we are finally in San Antonio at the Travelers World RV Resort. It is finally warm. Bill sat outside wearing shorts. We have some tours planned for the next several days, Then we have to decide which direction we want to take.

Yeah, you've posted! Can you swing by here on your way home and take my car in to get washed? Just kidding.
Can't wait to read about your tours and adventures to come!
